Les outils génétiques sont de plus en plus plébiscités dans la gestion des espèces exotiques envahissantes. ADN environnemental, technologies de bio-contrôle…ils offrent des possibilités étonnantes pour détecter, identifier et contrôler les EEE.
Thaïs Bernos, doctorante à l’Université de Toronto étudie la génétique des espèces exotiques envahissantes aquatiques et son application pratique. Pour recueillir des informations sur l’importance des outils génétiques (ADNe, technologies de biocontrôle…) dans la gestion des EEE aquatiques, elle a mis au point une courte enquête (<10 min) disponible en ligne. Celle-ci s’adresse à tous les professionnels impliqués sur la thématique EEE aquatiques (gestion ou recherche) et ne requiert pas une expérience préalable dans la génétique.
Les résultats recueillis permettront d’améliorer les collaborations entre généticiens et gestionnaires et développer de nouveaux outils de gestion des EEE aquatiques.

Dear Invasive Species Specialists,
I hope that you are doing well. My name is Thaïs, and I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto (Canada). I study the genetics of aquatic invasive species (AIS), and their implications for management.
If you work with AIS as well, I was hoping that you might be interested in answering a quick survey (<10mn) I designed? Briefly, this survey investigates the importance of several genetic tools (e.g. eDNA, biocontrol technologies…) and concepts to inform and manage AIS. Results will be used to help improve collaborations between geneticists and practitioners, and develop new tools to manage AIS. I am broadly interested in hearing from people who work with AIS (management or research-focused work) -no prior experience with genetics needed. I would love to hear from you!
